Welcome our newest rising star, Karissa
V’z is excited to introduce our newest team member. Karissa Martindale is a bright, bubbly, detailed manicurist and is sure to show you a good experience with Shellac gelpolish (even short nubs!). In May, local community member Sean Riley suffered a traumatic brain injury as a result of a succession of blackouts and falls. Sean is an off-road tour guide for Lake Tahoe Adventures and his wife, Georgette, works for the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority and the TahoeChamber, and both are good friends of Valorie and the rest of the team.
A Beach Bash Benefit at Zephyr Cove Resort will take place on Wednesday, August 15th from 5-8 PM to help the family with the ongoing care expenses. Sean is doing well, but does have some issues with comprehension and memory as a result of the injury, and has a long road to recovery requiring extensive physical therapy, home supervision and care.
Sean and Georgette have both contributed time and resources to organizations such as the National Ski Patrol, the Tahoe Rim Trail, and Bread and Broth, not to mention their contributions to their respective work places. They are valued members of our community and now need our help.
The Beach Bash Benefit will include dinner with live music and a no-host bar, along with a silent auction, live auction, and raffle. Funds raised will be used to help pay for Sean’s continued medical and therapeutic care costs. Tickets to the event are $35, and include dinner and a raffle ticket.
Through Aramark/Zephyr Cove Resort’s generous contribution to this event $25 of every ticket sold will go directly to assisting Sean. Tickets can be purchased online or in advance at the LTVA Visitor Center, 3066 Lake Tahoe Blvd (across from Rojo’s).
V’z is putting together some terrific items for the auction, and will be at the event. We hope to see you there!
The V’z team learned a lot at the recent Dermaquest class.
It’s been a busy few weeks here at V’z. The team has taken a number of classes on new products like Color Proof Evolve, Moroccan Oil and Dermaquest. This continuing education allows us to remain current on hair design, product knowledge and new technologies, which means we can better provide our clients with the high quality products and services they deserve!
Consider asking your stylist how current he or she is on hair design, fashion and product knowledge. In other words what has your stylist done for you lately? Are you staying loyal to someone who is not committed to you? V’z is committed to its clients, and our continuing education programs ensure that we bring the highest standards to the Tahoe beauty industry. We encourage our clients to be part of this, by inviting them to product demonstrations, and providing website links to our preferred brands (on the right of this post).
